People in our community need access to health care, but often can’t afford it.
These folks may be uninsured, on Medicaid, or simply can’t afford the care available to them.
When this happens, communities suffers. Sick people struggle to go to work, take care of their families, and contribute to the world around them. Those who can’t afford medical care may wait until they’re so sick that they need to go to the emergency room. By that point, they’ll probably need more care at a higher cost than if they’d been seen earlier. This also clogs up emergency rooms with patients who shouldn’t have to go to an emergency room just to get basic care.
Safety net clinics fill the gap by providing low- or no-cost, culturally competent care. This means people get the care they need when they need it, instead of waiting until their situation is dire to get help.
By donating to the Colorado Safety Net Collaborative, you’ll support safety net clinics in providing critical care to people in our community. Together, we can ensure that our community’s most vulnerable members can access lifesaving and life-sustaining healthcare.
